Director of Quality Assurance

Vivian Molloy B.A. (Mod), H.Dip, MA (Ed.) is a graduate of Trinity College, Carlow IT and Mary Immaculate College. Vivian completed a Masters in ‘Education and Wellbeing of the Older Person’. Vivian worked in residential care in both frontline and management capacities for nine years before spearheading the development of Social Care Training Ireland as Training and Practice Manager, and simultaneously achieving and managing the ISO 9001 accredited Auditing Department of Daffodil Care Services. Vivian has facilitated Supervision sessions for social care workers, managers and directors. He has developed and delivered various training courses to staff internally and external companies nationwide, including Child Protection, Leadership and Change Management, Professional Supervision, Culture and Communication, and Guidance on Quality Documentation Procedures.


Business and Training Manager

Jennifer Hayes B.A. (Hons) is a graduate of Waterford Institute of Technology with an Level 8 Honours Degree in Applied Social Studies in Social Care. Jennifer also received a National Certificate in Business Studies from Carlow Institute of Technology. Jennifer's background is in residential care. Jennifer has been a trainer with Social Care Training Ireland since 2011, delivering Therapeutic Crisis Intervention in an associate trainer capacity and Occupational First Aid along with many other of our individually tailored courses. Jennifer was appointed as Business and Training Manager in April 2015, where she oversees the day to day running of the company in addition to long-term strategy development.


Marketing and Training Coordinator

Páidí Manning is our Marketing and Training Coordinator. He has been working with Social Care Training Ireland since July 2013. Páidí is responsible for our marketing strategy, website and social media maintenance, course logistics and records, training schedules and audits, and also trainer and client support. Training and Research

Bernie Breen, B.A. (Hons) is a graduate of Dublin Institute of Technology in ‘Applied Social Care’. Bernie qualified with Cornell University, Colorado, USA in March 2011 as an Associate Trainer in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and secured her Professional Certification in March 2014. Bernie worked in social care for thirteen years with children, teenagers and over eighteens in various roles, including managing an Aftercare Service for young vulnerable adults leaving a care setting. Bernie also worked with the Travelling Community for nine years within the social care setting and has developed a Cultural Awareness training programme to develop teams in cultural competency in working with ethnic groups. Bernie recently completed a Level 7 Supervision course in Carlow IT and developed our External Supervision service. Bernie has also completed STORM® Skills Self-Harm training and is ASIST trained.


Training and Development

Dolores Martin B.A. (Hons), MA graduated from Carlow Institute of Technology Carlow with a honours degree in ‘Social Studies and Social Care’ and Masters in ‘Child, Youth and Family Studies’. Dolores has worked extensively in many areas of the social care system since 2006. Dolores worked as a social care worker for seven years working with teenagers in a variety of settings and with over eighteens in an aftercare setting. Dolores sat on the board of Wexford County Childcare Committee as Parents Representative for eight years. In 2014, Dolores completed facilitator training in Parents Plus and The Strengthening Families Programme and has delivered Parenting Programmes to Parents of children in the care system or at risk of entering the care system, who were referred by TUSLA.

In 2014, Dolores began working with Social Care Training Ireland and is an Associate Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Trainer. Dolores completed a level 7 course in Supervision in 2016 and a STORM self-harm training course. She has developed a range of other courses including Managing Challenging Behaviour, Working with Trauma and Anti-Bullying. From September 2015, Dolores has delivered Mental Health Seminars to several schools and organisations on behalf of the Daffodil Foundation. Dolores has also completed STORM® Skills Self-Harm training and is ASIST trained.



Emer McCarthy B.A. (Mod), M.Phil, PMP © is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and a certified Project Management Professional. Emer has a Masters in “Race and Ethnicity”. Emer has extensive experience as a facilitator, researcher and trainer for almost 20 years with qualifications in Training for Trainers and Conflict Management. She has a proven track record in a diverse range of sectors including community development, child development and family support, inclusion, anti-racism, mental health, disability, educational welfare and communications. Emer has worked in residential care in both frontline and management positions and has managed several third sector projects. Emer has written and delivered various training courses under the aegis of Social Care Training Ireland and independently, including Mental Health, Self-Harm and Suicidal Ideation in Young People with Special Needs, Culture & Communication, Facilitation of Sensitive Groups, Conflict Management, Team Building, Capacity Building and Campaigning in Marginalised Communities, Migration and Integration and Communication. She has also written strategic plans for SECAD and Gloria, Dublin Lesbian and Gay Choir amongst others.



Niamh Baxter, B.Soc.Sc., Lead Auditor ISO 9001:2015, graduated from University College Dublin with a degree in Social Science. Niamh has worked in the area of social care for over twenty years, working for statutory, voluntary and private organisations. During this time, Niamh has worked with children and vulnerable young people in mainstream residential and homeless services. Progressing to being part of the management of centre’s in 2000, Niamh has focused on the provision of quality services to young people, and gaining her qualification as Lead Auditor of ISO 9001. Niamh has also worked in private business in the areas of project management, operations, finance, advertising, print and media and hospitality and qualified in 2008 as a Reflexologist.



Martina Kinane B.A. (Hons) is a graduate of Waterford IT with an honours degree in Applied Social Studies and she has worked with vulnerable, young people for the last 10 years. Martina has experience of working in both community and residential care settings and has increased her skill set through training and experience since graduating.  Martina has facilitated parenting groups and workshops to single and vulnerable parents in community settings via funding secured through RAPID. Martina has worked with a mainstream residential care service for the last three years and has managed a mainstream centre for a two-year period. Martina has deliver Child Protection, Managing Self-Harm, Professional Report Writing, Sexual Education and Anti-Bullying training.
